Publishers and the book industry
Production files, authors records, press kits, correspondences, legal, commercial and advertising documents... An important part of literary life—and of its economy—from the mid-19th century to the present day, is gathered in the stacks located under the Ardenne Abbey. Archival materials from publishers and members of the book industry provide information on the different processes at work in the publishing of a book (contexts of production, distribution strategies, commercial policies) as well as their impacts on intellectual life.
